FAQ

Q: I run AimingClick. Is there an AimingClick window?

A: AimingClick appears as an icon in the taskbar notification area (taskbar tray). The AimingClick window (Search Box) can be opened by a hot-key (Alt+Left Mouse Button or CTRL+1) or clicking the Tray icon.

Q: Why there is no AimingClick button on the taskbar?

A: Because the AimingClick icon appears in the taskbar tray and Search Box can be opened by clicking on the tray icon. It is not necessary to show its button on the taskbar.

Q: I select a word then Alt+Click on the AimingClick icon in the taskbar tray. But the selected word does not appear in Search Box. What is wrong?

A: Click on the selected word rather than on the tray icon and the program will work properly.

Q: I read a document in Microsoft Internet Explorer then request AimingClick for a word reference. The results are opened in the same IE window. It is not convenient because the current document is closed.

A: You can set up IE to open AimingClick search results (and other links from other applications) in a new IE window. Click Tools->Internet Options on the IE menu. Go to the Advanced tab. Uncheck the Browsing->Reuse Windows for Launching Shortcuts option and click OK.

Q: I use Firefox Web Browser. It opens AimingClick search results successfully but the Firefox window remains in the background and I have to click on the taskbar to activate it. Can this be fixed by AimingClick or Firefox settings?

A: You can fix this problem changing the Firefox option how to open links from other applications. The default mode to open links In The Most Recent Tab/Window has a glitch on windows activation. Other options to open links in a New Window or in a New Tab of the Most Recent Window have no problems with windows activation and we guess they are also more convenient for browsing. To change this setting click Tools->Options. Go to the Advanced tab. Choose a desired option under the Tabbed Browsing node and click OK.
