Installation instructions

Run the downloaded file to start the installation procedure and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.

AimAtFile requires Microsoft Indexing Service running on your computer to search for local files. If Indexing Service is switched off on your computer AimAtFile proposes you switch it on when you make the first attempt to search for files.

Note: If Indexing Service has been switched off for a long time it may take a significant time to begin bringing you up-to-date results. During this period Indexing Service actively scans files on your hard drives but it is not a problem. It is a low-priority process and it does not prevent your work on the computer. After this initial rescan Indexing Service will incrementally index only new and changed files with a very low computer resources consumption.
